Damascus s grind honesuki with triangular stacked handle
This blade is a 16 layer Damascus steel, composed of 1095 and 15n20.
About the steels:
1095 is a high carbon steel composed of 99.5% iron .95% carbon this makes it a equivalent to Japanese white paper steel, which has been the gold standard for kitchen knives for the last 500 years.
15n20 is the bright etching nickel steel used in Damascus, it is composed of .75% carbon 2% nickel .40 manganese and .30 silicone and the rest is iron, a great partner to 1095 in Damascus steel.
The handle is heavily influenced by Japanese octagonal handles but has a triangular profile . Traditionally made with a two tone handle knife guy twists this with a zebra patter handle laser cut, each handle has three stainless steel rods to stabilise the handle making extremely sturdy. This thin handle compliments and seamlessly transitions from the square necks of the blades. This handle is made of oak and smoked oak hardwood.
